JiRaffe

Last night, I met up with Clearbright for dinner at JiRaffe so we could take advantage of dineLA’s Restaurant Week. Unfortunately, no food pictures because it was way too dark in there. It was great to go out and actually socialize after work, and to catch up with an old friend. We strategically ordered our meals so that we could try as much as possible. Since we split each course in half, we got to try a little bit of everything!

APPETIZER:

Big Eye Tuna Tartare
Avocado Guacamole, Cilantro, Jalapeno, Lime, Crispy Corn Tortillas, Hawaiian Palm-Heart Salad

Roasted Vermont Quail
Stuffed with Country Bread, Dried Fruit and Foie Gras, Served Over White Risotto and Porcini Mushroom Sauce

ENTRÉE:

Organic Scottish Salmon
Lightly Smoked German Butterball Potatoes, Baby Fennel, Satsuma Tangerines, Saffron-Tangerine Sauce

Pan Roasted Filet of Beef
Pommes Puree, Organic Swiss Chard, Red Flame Grapes, Black Truffle Beef Sauce

DESSERT:

Sticky Toffee Pudding
Vanilla Ice Cream, Toffee Sauce

Caramel Chocolate Halsey
Caramel Mousse, Shortbread Cookie Crust, Covered in Chocolate Ganache

The meal was delicious…my favorites were the tuna tartare and the beef filet! We ended up staying and chatting for so long after dinner that the manager came over to offer us glasses of wine if we’d move to a smaller table so she could offer ours to a larger party. We were actually just about to leave, but who can refuse free wine?? Answer: not us!!
